The Importance of Beauty Sleep

When our schedule gets incredibly busy (with our jobs, stress, activities, studies, errands, kids, etc.) one important part of our daily routine suffers.

Sometimes we have so many things to do, in so little time, that unfortunately, we often choose to cut on sleep — which is never a good thing. No matter how hard or how hectic our schedule is, here’s why getting our eight-hour beauty sleep is important.

The Science of Beauty Sleep

Your body (skin included), goes into ‘repair and replenish’ mode while you sleep, therefore the number of hours are critical for that process to take place adequately. Sleep reduces cortisol (a stress hormone) and increases melatonin (an antioxidant), which helps promote cellular turnover to improve skin texture and tone.
